Recent Matters
my work
Tony specialises in complex commercial and cross-border disputes, with experience spanning breach of contract and international trade, business torts and commercial fraud, trust and fiduciary disputes (both onshore and offshore), and shareholder and boardroom conflicts. He is particularly skilled in the strategic management of multi-jurisdictional litigation, frequently acting in matters involving offshore structures and cross-border enforcement.
His representative cases include successfully defending an HMRC challenge against a Chinese business with a turnover exceeding £150 million — a matter that set a legal precedent in the First-Tier Tax Tribunal and is now cited in insolvency-related cases. Tony has also acted for beneficiaries in trust disputes, including a claim in Cyprus for breach of trust and interference with trust assets, securing a court order to suspend the trustee’s powers and appoint a receiver to pursue fiduciary claims against company directors in England.
He has represented clients in disputes between trustees and beneficiaries of self-administered pension schemes, advised on claims arising from misrepresentations in prospectuses, and managed shareholder and boardroom disputes leading to winding-up applications. In another significant matter, Tony successfully set aside a transaction involving improperly obtained mortgages, securing a worldwide freezing order to prevent asset dissipation.
