Tofiq was called to the Bar in 1983 and subsequently cross-qualified as a solicitor, holding Rights of Audience in all Higher Courts. He brings extensive advocacy expertise, having represented clients in numerous trials and final hearings. He has a broad and substantial legal background, having practised at the Bar, served as a partner in several London law firms, worked within the Civil Service, and undertaken in-house roles. His experience also extends internationally, including familiarity with the Dubai legal system and the DIFC.

Alongside his legal career, Tofiq has founded, managed, and directed various
businesses, bringing commercial insight that enhances his understanding of clients’ needs. He has also advised housing management companies and worked with a start-up company, further strengthening his expertise in both legal and business spheres.

- Commercial & Civil Litigation – Handling landlord and tenant disputes, property matters, contractual disputes, debt recovery, and employment settlement agreements.
- Family Law – Extensive experience in children law matters, including Section 8 Children Act 1989 orders and non-molestation orders.
- Criminal Law – Representing clients across a wide range of offences, from serious cases such as murder, drugs, and fraud, to traffic-related offences.

Outside of his professional commitments, Tofiq pursues interests including travel, walking, tennis, and has recently taken up golf. He is also dedicated to supporting a range of charitable and voluntary causes
