Roderick Farningham is a commercial litigator and Solicitor‑Advocate with a strong record in high‑value, multi‑party and multi‑jurisdictional disputes, in addition to complex work for SMEs.
His practice covers commercial litigation, fraud, financial and corporate disputes, partnership and shareholder matters, property and employment litigation, intellectual property, insolvency, and urgent interim relief.
He is recognised for strategic judgment, meticulous preparation and calm authority in contentious, time‑critical situations. An accredited mediator and arbitrator, he brings a disciplined, multidisciplinary approach to complex dispute resolution.

- Cross border financial (including insolvency) litigation: Acting for banks, creditors and institutional investors in complex cross jurisdictional disputes together with insolvency related recoveries.
- Property litigation: Advising on landlord-tenant disputes, ownership disputes, border disputes, and renegotiations of terms.
- Corporate and shareholder disputes: Advising on contested joint venture and board disputes, warranty and disclosure claims, derivative and unfair prejudice matters, and regulatory exposure.
- High value fraud and commercial litigation: Acting in complex fraud, conspiracy and breach of warranty litigation involving high-value cross border assets. Otherwise engaging in commercial disputes ranging from unpaid invoices to employment fallouts, trademark disputes, or customs or tax.
- SME disputes: Advising founders, directors and private clients on contractual, partnership, property and insolvency disputes.
- ADR: Accredited mediator and arbitrator with experience in LCIA, ICC and UNCITRAL proceedings and regulatory investigations.

Roderick holds a BA (Hons) in PPE from the University of Oxford and an MPhil in Philosophy from UCL, followed by the CPE and BVC.
He has been recognised as a “Rising Star” in commercial litigation by Thomson Reuters for three consecutive years and is qualified as a Solicitor‑Advocate, mediator, and arbitrator.
He qualified at a leading US firm, completed secondments with Goldman Sachs and Bank of New York Mellon, and has since built a reputation for strategic leadership, technical excellence, and advocacy.
