Aniruddha was called to the Bar in England and Wales in 2020 and in India in 2005. He is presently a member of the Working Group and the Drafting Committee on International Investment Contracts constituted by UNIDROT and International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
He was a Member of the United Nations International Law Commission and the Chairperson of the Drafting Committee at the 69th Session in 2017. He was a member of the study group of the Law Commission of India to comment on the Indian Model Bilateral Investment Treaty.
He is Distinguished Professor of Law at National Law University Delhi and teaches courses in international law, investment arbitration and human rights at University of Vienna as Visiting Fellow since 2022. He has authored around 5 books and 50 articles and books chapters on various areas of international law and investment arbitration.

Aniruddha specialises in corporate and commercial disputes, international arbitration, investor State disputes and international law. Aniruddha brings wealth of advocacy experience ranging from domestic courts to international courts and tribunals.
He has a solid foundation and understanding of commercial disputes and economic interests of clients at stake in complex cross-border transactions and international trade. Due to his experience of working with governments of various countries, the United Nations and other international organizations, he acutely understands sovereign risks to businesses and foreign investments.

- Advised a European investor in an investment case against an African State.
- Advised an Asian State on various aspects of rights of coastal States over maritime zones arising out of a rail project connecting that State to another State and passing through maritime zones of a third State.
- Counsel for Equatorial Guinea in The M/T "Heroic Idun" (No. 2) Case (Marshall Islands/Equatorial Guinea), International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea.
- Advised India on trade, environment protection, human rights and dispute resolution provisions in Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with various countries.
- Advised a Non Self Governing Territory under Chapter XI of the UN Charter regarding its rights under international law.
- Counsel for Ukraine in Olympic Entertainment Group AS (Estonia) v. Republic of Ukraine (investment dispute under Estonia-Ukraine BIT in relation to regulation of the gambling sector).
- Advised an ‘entity’ on its potential membership of the United Nations.
- Advised a group of oil companies regarding potential consequences of investments to be made in disputed maritime areas between two States.
- Advised an Asian investor in investment arbitration proceedings against an African State in a dispute relating to infrastructure and real estate development.
- Advised a European investor in investment arbitration proceedings against an African State under the ICSID Convention in a dispute relating to imposition of taxation measures on imports and exports of commodities.
- Advised a South State on implications of potential investigations by the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC).
- Advised a State in the Middle East in two pending proceedings before the International Court of Justice.
- Advised a political entity with competence over international relations in the drafting of Model Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) and ongoing negotiations for a BIT.
- Advised a State in the Middle East on pending proceedings before the World Trade Organization.
