Ahmed Laheraitani is a Moroccan-qualified lawyer, admitted to practise with the Casablanca Bar, who advises companies, investors and private clients on corporate and commercial matters, cross-border transactions, major projects and dispute resolution.

 

His practice has a strong international dimension, spanning Morocco, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom. He completed the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course at The University of Law in England and holds a Master in International Law from the University of Westminster, London.

 

Ahmed works with international clients, businesses and counsel on transactions, investments and disputes involving multiple jurisdictions.

Ahmed advises across the lifecycle of clients' activities, from investment and structuring through to regulatory matters, disputes and enforcement, with particular experience across Morocco, the Gulf and the United Kingdom.

 

The Gulf

Ahmed has experience advising on major projects and complex commercial mandates in Saudi Arabia, including in connection with the US$11 billion Amiral petrochemical project, alongside other significant matters involving Saudi and international stakeholders.

 

He also gained experience with the Dubai office of White & Case, working in an international law firm environment on cross-border and transactional matters.

 

In the United Arab Emirates, Ahmed advises international businesses, entrepreneurs and investors on corporate structuring, establishment and commercial matters.

 

United Kingdom

Ahmed has experience in complex and cross-border disputes, including litigation before the English courts, working alongside UK counsel on matters with international and multi-jurisdictional dimensions, as well as the enforcement of claims across jurisdictions.

 

Morocco

In Morocco, Ahmed advises domestic and international clients on market entry, corporate structuring, commercial contracts, licensing and distribution arrangements, foreign investment and financing.

 

His contentious practice includes commercial, administrative and customs disputes before the Moroccan courts, including matters involving corporate clients and public authorities. He also advises on regulatory and compliance issues arising from cross-border activities.

Major Projects, Energy & Natural Resources

  • Advising in connection with the US$11 billion Amiral petrochemical project in Saudi Arabia, a major integrated petrochemical development in the Kingdom.
  • Advising on major projects and complex commercial mandates in Saudi Arabia involving Saudi and international stakeholders.
  • Advising an investor in a drilling and blasting business on its contracting arrangements with an international mining operator in Morocco.


Corporate & Cross-Border Transactions

  • Advising businesses and investors on establishing, structuring and conducting activities in Morocco and the United Arab Emirates, including free-zone incorporation, licensing and ongoing compliance.
  • Advising an international consumer brand on the structure of a master licence for the Moroccan market.
  • Advising on Morocco-Gulf transactions and investments, including matters involving Saudi Arabian and UAE interests, and on financings involving Moroccan banks and European funders.


Disputes & Enforcement

  • Working on litigation before the English courts, including disputes with cross-border and multi-jurisdictional dimensions, in coordination with UK counsel.
  • Acting in commercial disputes before the Moroccan courts on behalf of corporate clients.
  • Advising on cross-border debt recovery and asset tracing between Morocco and the Gulf, including the enforcement of guarantees and negotiable instruments.


Regulatory, Administrative & Public Law

  • Acting on administrative and customs matters in Morocco, including disputes involving public authorities and licensing and authorisation decisions.
  • Advising on regulatory and data protection compliance for businesses operating across borders.

interest

Outside his practice, Ahmed maintains a longstanding interest in international affairs. Selected to participate in the United Nations Young Ambassador programme in New York, he has since represented Morocco in international and parallel diplomacy forums across the Gulf, Europe and the United States.


He travels widely and has a particular interest in the political traditions and cultures of the regions in which he works. He reads extensively on history, geopolitics and international relations .
