Ernest was called to the Hong Kong Bar in 2010 and admitted as a Solicitor of England and Wales in 2022. He brings more than a decade of legal experience spanning both contentious and advisory work in both jurisdictions. In 2025, he was also called to the English Bar, further strengthening his ability to navigate complex legal issues and deepening the analytical rigour of his work.

 

His practice focuses on commercial and property disputes, and he has acted in a wide range of matters, including commercial and contractual claims, property litigation, landlord-and-tenant disputes, and trust-related proceedings. Ernest is experienced in cases of varying scale and complexity and is known for delivering clear, strategically focused advice to clients.

Ernest has acted on a wide range of complex commercial and property disputes, demonstrating a strong ability to navigate financially and legally intricate matters. His experience includes advising on contractual disagreements involving the operational fees of an educational institution, as well as disputes arising from investment agreements in residential property. He has handled claims for the repayment of monies under loan agreements, including matters complicated by trust issues linked to land purchases.


Ernest has also represented clients in cases involving alleged misrepresentation by property agents, and in breach of lease proceedings, including applications for relief from forfeiture. In addition, he regularly assists with landlord and tenant disputes concerning termination, arrears, and breaches of tenancy agreements, providing clear, strategic guidance throughout.

Ernest enjoys travelling and exploring new destinations, with a particular passion for experiencing different cultures. He has a deep interest in art history, which allows him to admire the beauty and creativity of humankind within the context of historical development. He is also an avid reader of history, drawn to the stories and lessons that shape societies over time. Ernest also enjoys spending quality time at home with his two beloved Pomeranians, who bring both companionship and joy to his daily life.

Ernest completed both his LLB and PCLL at the University of Hong Kong, establishing a strong academic foundation in law before qualifying in multiple jurisdictions. He is a Solicitor in England and Wales, a Barrister (non-practising) in England and Wales, and a Barrister in Hong Kong, bringing a rare combination of cross-border legal qualifications and international perspective to his practice.
