David qualified as a Solicitor in 2006 with a boutique commercial firm in the City of London. He moved to Newcastle upon Tyne in 2008 and worked for two of the largest firms in the region.
In 2014 David relocated to Dubai where he spent almost 4 years working for two prominent firms. He established a new team in one of these firms and his efforts in a pro bono case involving redacting a high profile judgment handed down by the DIFC Courts led to winning the annual award for pro bono law firm of the year in 2015. David returned to the UK in 2017 and became a Consultant Lawyer, which has been a successful transition. He has a reputation for tenacity, clear advice and a high standard of client care which has won him an impressive following including international companies and PLCs. David qualified as a Solicitor-Advocate in 2021 which is a further attraction for clients.

Recent Matters
my work
- Acting for a minority shareholder in relation to an unfair prejudice petition under s.994 of the
- Companies Act 2006. The claim settled after the issue of Court proceedings when the
- Respondents were forced to sell the company to a third party for £4m, with each shareholder
- receiving £1m.
- Representing the shareholders in a derivative claim and rectification of the Companies House register based on unlawful filings.
- Obtaining an injunction for a high-net-worth client based in Monaco to compel the release of a vintage motor vehicle that was being held by a specialist restorer in the UK, in a dispute over fees.
- Advising a large grain trading and storage co—operative in relation to an insurance dispute for the sum of £5m.
- Advising a PLC in connection with a construction dispute
Interest
about me
David is an avid traveller, surfer and plays squash in his spare time. He has surfed in many different countries, at the same time soaking up the culture, including South Africa, Morocco, Oman, Lebanon, Portugal. He lives near the Northumberland coast and can be found there on his days off.
David has a taste for adventure and completed the Midnight Sun Marathon in Tromso, Norway which is the northern most marathon in the world. He has also run with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain.
David has two children and is a dog lover. He has an English Springer Spaniel and German Pointer.
